This is ROSIE
This is Rosie.
Rosie was our second do we rescued from the local shelter in California. The folks at the shelter told us she was going to be a big dog. This would match to Maisie our first dog, a Bearded Collie mix.
Rosie was to be a Doberman mix.
Well as you can see Rosie is a small dog. Mighty, but small.
Rosie like to spend her time napping, sitting outside getting lots of sun or chasing after Squirrels
and other wild animals that venture into her domain.
Rosie last Christmas with her gift. We had to wake from her nap in daddy's chair.
One thing Rosie is keen on is when I start to bake Dog Treats. The whole gang will sit just outside the kitchen door and watch me with interest. Each time I venture out of the kitchen they hot foot it over to me and Rosie will look up like she has never had a Treat before.
Rosie is the best for one at giving "that" Look. (see above) Please Sir, may I have just one.
Rosie is very smart and know what she wants. She has on more then one occasion sniffed a treat and turn her head and looked at me. Saying "No not that one, get me another flavor, the one I want"
I will ask her what she would like. Rosie will trot over to the correct treat jar and sit and look at it then me, it then me.
She will do this till I offer her one treat.
Rosie peeking our from the bed curtains after her nap
Rosie love to nap, she and papa will nap in the afternoons.
Here she is taking a rest in the late morning sun
She love to sleep with her head under the bed and her little but on the pillow. Such a cut little girl.
Rosie love the chickens and will, when she wants help round-up the girls. She will sit by the coop door and watch the chickens. I am not sure if she wants to catch one for dinner or
just making sure the local Hawk days away.
Rosie will be 9 in June and her favorite flavor is, the one she want to eat.
But mostly Peanut Butter that's been dipped in Carob.

Carob Dippings
So what is new?
Well we have added our first new line of treats. We added to our great flavors by adding a wonderful and yummy Carob topping to our treats.
Carob is kinda like, chocolate for dogs. (we purchase ours from Barrys From here in Ohio.) It is a unsweetend veriaty so to humans it taste like a bitter sweet chocolate. We dip the tops and sides of the treat, don't want to much of a good thing. right! We intorduced Valentine's Day Treats as our first offerings and soon all the bones will be avaiable. Some of our Treats below.
R. Bones with Heart, l. Circle N Hearts Bottom - Facebook Fan Exclusive item.
Its been fun learning about Carob. Luckly I have used human chocolate before so this knowledge help out.
Measure, Melt, Mix, Dip, Drip and Dry.
This was all done in a double boiler. (My Ikea pot and Pampered Chef double boiler insert.)
This was a fun process, very messy at times. clean up was well, thank whoever envented the dishwasher.
Made clean up oh so easy, now if i get sombody to put them away all will be right in my world.
One last note of importance.
Here is our NEW display at the Greenhills OH Post Office.
Maisie, Rosie, Coco, Robert & I wish you a very happy Valentine's Day
I should have a new post very soon. Keep an eye out for it.
Tail-Waggin goodtimes!!

The weather out side is...
At this moment it is 16 degrees outside. It's cold, very cold.
California boy is not used to this. But i do admit i love it.
The water for the chickens get frozen in about 2 hours, so we need to check it often.
They are not very happy about this cold. We have a heating lamp for them so they are toasty and warm.
We are cold but our snow from yesterday is almost gone. Its funny how its below freezing and still when the sun is out the snow will melt then refreeze after the sun goes behind the house (about 1pm).
Some to the melted-refrozen snow on the outdoor lights.
I have dedcided to update the reason for my blog. since i do not seem to write very much. so this is all about our dogs and are life as MaiRo & Co - Dog Treat Bakery.
Hope this allowes me more topics to write to you and let you know what we are upto.
Happy Tail to you

Have to share this with you.
I had a customer come in to the Village Post Office where I sell our treats and work (part time). She asked questions about the dog treats we sell. MaiRo & Co Dog Treats, I told he about the wholesome and natural stuff we put into our treats, whole wheat flour, roasted carob powder, home made Peanut Butter, farm fresh eggs, locally sourced products. Since her pup did not eat just everything, I offered some samples to take home.
She took the treats placed them in her pocket and left our shop to run more errands.
A few weeks later she stopped by to do some mailing and told me how the treat were such a great success.
(Remember she placed the treats in the pocket of her jeans.) She got home from doing those errands and hand forgotten about the treats,so into the laundry basket those jeans went. Well we all know how good a dogs nose is. Her dogs sniffed out the carob mint treats from the other laundry smells. Got the jeans out, got into the pocket and ate the treats. Also eating a whole in the pocket of her jeans.

This is a true story.
Just goes to show you good wholesome treats can never be hidden from ANY dog.

3 days in to 2013
Well its day 3 of the new year. Its 5 degrees outside, to cold for the chickens to give us any eggs.
Maisie loves the cold and she will just sit in the snow for hours. Coco will stay with here for some time but in the end will bark to be let in. Rosie on the other hand will just stick her head out, sniff and most times will retreat to the comfort of my chair. I think she is waiting for Spring.
Now i have to get to work. Valentine's day is coming and treats must be made.
Visit us at MaiRoAndCo.com to see our treats for this day of love.
Bow Wow.
